The Heist

One of my all time favorite movies is Love Actually. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend that you do. It has a little bit of everything, from outrageously funny (Hugh Grant shaking his booty to the Pointer Sisters) to extremely sad (Emma Thompson's line to her husband, "would you stay, knowing your life would always be just a little bit worse" when she realizes he gave a beautiful necklace to someone other than her for Christmas), and a fabulous soundtrack to compliment the fun. Today, I am channelling the ever famous words of the Bay City Rollers, "Bye Bye Baby, baby goodbye. Bye baby, baby bye bye. Bye bye baby, don't make me cry. Bye baby, baby bye bye," another great song from the movie. Why that particular song you ask? Well, if you will recall this post from back in September when we got rid of my Jeep after my Grandpa graciously gave us his Taurus for a killer price. And...you ask? Well, today I opened the garage door to head out to G's Jeep so I could go to an awesome running path for a nice relaxing run...only there was no Jeep in the driveway to greet me. The case of the vanishing Jeep? I went back inside and calmly asked G where he parked the Jeep when he got back from the gym last night. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, "In the driveway where I always park it." The only thought I could get across my brain was, "you are kidding me, right?" "YOU.HAVE.TO.BE.F-ING.KIDDING.ME!!!!!" We live in a nice part of Albuquerque. We lock the doors. We have no enemies (at least none we are aware of). We only started parking G's Jeep in the driveway when he got home three weeks ago because one-half of our garage is now cluttered with baby stuff. We are NOT the only people to park a car in the driveway, let alone on the street, and we are not the only people who park a Jeep outside of the garage on our street. But, last night, our Jeep was stolen. Yes, you read that right, F-ING STOLEN from our driveway. Maybe it happened at 3 AM when I had to get up because D was awake and sitting up in his crib; perhaps the noise woke him up since he normally sleeps the night through. Perhaps it happened at 4 AM when our neighbor's son said he heard their dog barking. Who knows. All I know is that I hope the heister(s)/sheister(s) gets caught so I can give them a piece of my mind...and fist if the law allows :). Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We suspect that it is somewhere in Mexico by now. Wish us luck as we try to navigate our way through some muddy (and surely expensive) waters. Bye Bye Jeepie, Jeepie goodbye :(.

On a happier note, D is doing very well with the sippy cup. This morning was the first one without a bottle and he took it all in stride. He has even started using the sippy cup all on his own, which makes us both VERY HAPPY! I took him to the urgent care yesterday because the ringworm/rash on his neck was much worse. They prescribed some otc fungus cream (yummy) and an antibiotic because of the interaction with the outdoors cats. I plan to alert the owner of the suspected feline as she is expecting a little bambino in the very near future...and I doubt anyone wants a newborn to get ringworm. Here are a few pictures of our little monkey:

Just practicing my ham grin Mom.

Come closer, just a little closer.
