Technology Issues

Ok, so we thought it was bad enough last night when I managed to knock an entire glass of wine over directly onto my laptop computer. Yes, ouch. This morning however, my cell phone decided to stop working too (and it is my only phone as we have no land-line...does anyone know what that is anymore?). I am almost afraid to get in the car to see about getting them both fixed for fear that the car may begin to have issues as well. The good news is that my wonderful brother gave me an external hard drive last fall to start backing up my laptop on a regular basis. The bad news is that I checked when my last back-up was this morning and it was February 15th. The even worse news is that we may have lost some of D's pictures as we typically delete them off the camera to make room for more. :( Note to self: NEVER let a busy life interfere with backing up computer files! Thankfully, I posted many of the pictures here on this blog and on another picture site we have as a family. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the computer Data Docs can recover some of the data that was lost and am trying to maintain a positive outlook. And WTF is with the phone?! It seems that the only feature not working is the speaker, so I can dial someone and listen to him/her say "hello, hello, hello" endlessly, but never make them hear me say "HELLO!!!!!" Now, I occasionally let D play with my phone since he fixates on it whenever I try to make a call or receive a call, and wonder if perhaps his endless drooling finally did the speaker in. I am crossing my fingers on this one too as I do not want a new phone. I like my simple, techno-free phone that I use as a phone and nothing else really. Arggggghhhhh. At least we still have a working computer at home since G brought back our CPU for our desktop when he came home. But, since neither of us ever used it, none of our relevant files, etc. happen to reside on it. Oh well, I'll have to chalk it up to lessons learned I guess...and never have a drink of any type near the computer again!
