We took D to the doctor today for his 12-month well check-up. Thankfully, everything is going great! He weighed in at 22 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 30 1/4 inches long...still average weight and slightly tall. And he has a consult appointment scheduled with an eye doctor later this month so we can learn about the options for getting his clogged tear duct unclogged. As usual, he took all the poking and prodding in stride, but I felt so bad for him when they gave him his shots. These were worse than the others, and I could tell by his little cry and facial expressions. Poor thing :(. However, I would rather watch and hear this fleeting pain than have him catch one of the evils we are vaccinating against. He has turned into quite the stomach sleeper lately, and I managed to catch a picture of him last night as he peacefully dreamt the night away.

We have not heard anything about the
Jeep yet, not that we really expect to. The insurance company told us that there is a 30-day waiting period where all we can do is wait to see if it is recovered. After that passes, we can move forward with a new vehicle. I sure wish we could get the heisters to pay for all of our out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. insurance downpayment and most likely increased rates), wasted time and hassle! Oh yea, and the car payments we are likely to assume since there is no way we can get the same vehicle for the price we are bound to get from the insurance company. I am a firm believer of pay-it-forward, and so I have some peace knowing that someday, whoever thought taking the Jeep would be a good idea, will receive such a kind gesture in return.
