Introducing Scubi Doo 2.0

If you have been keeping up with this blog, then you are well aware that we lost our Jeep mid-April to some theiving @#*%*@%#’s who apparently decided they wanted the Jeep more than we did. Ha! After waiting 30-days for the Jeep to be recovered (another ha!) the insurance company settled with us since the Jeep was “unrecovered.” And believe it or not, they made a fair settlement! Our second stroke of good luck related to this incident (the first being that they gave us a rental for 30 days). In our discussions over what car to get to replace the Jeep, we ended up deciding on Scubi Doo as she was the best deal we could get for the least amount of money at the moment, and because she is what I wanted in the long-term anyhow. Unfortunately for G (the driver of our stolen Jeep), the truck he wants is more expensive no matter which way we slice it, so we are waiting on that one and he will start driving the Silver Bullet. Subarus have been in my family in one form or another for most of my life: my parents got a tan hatch-back when I was pre-kindergarden (I believe) and it was in the family until my brother was almost done with high school. I would say it was a great investment since it lasted through two high school students learning to drive...a clutch to boot! I drove a little red Subaru Justy in high school and part of college, until I realized my dream of driving a Jeep. My Mom-in-love/D’s Ansy currently drives an Outback, Blue, and loves her. I am thrilled to be bringing another Scubi into the family :). I drove her home from Colorado yesterday, and she made the lengthy trip seem like an easy breeze! D’s car seat fits perfectly, and we have already enjoyed driving her around as a family. We look forward to the many miles we will certainly log with Scubi Doo 2.0 as we start making family adventures!

Very nice! I have fond memories of the tan hatchback - the mere mention flashed me back to Powerderhorn, swim meets and camping trips. Congrats on the car!
