- The insurance company settled with us early and fairly. Let me just say that we were both pleasantly surprised on both fronts. Still not enough $$ to be able to outright purchase a new/used comparable vehicle, but enough to get us well on our way and keep our monthly payments low...whew!!
- We were able to secure a car to purchase that we actually wanted for a good price and from a trustworthy dealership. We should be in possession of said vehicle by Thursday of next week...be on the lookout for that post.
- I was offered a part-time position with my former employer (different department, similar work) whereby I will work 15 hours per week: one week only 2 hours will be on-site and the rest from home; and one week 10 hours will be on-site and the rest from home (one full day on-site when G is off work with his flex schedule). For those who know my former employer, you will realize this is actually a pretty sweet deal because they typically don't let this particular position work from home. It is only temporary for 6 months, but that is perfect!...and even better because it was totally unexpected. I will have a steep learning curve as much has changed since I left, and I have never really worked from home much less with a mobile and active toddler, but a challenge is always nice :).
