Who doesn't like a few unexpected days off of work and the feeling, if only for one day, of being snowed in. For us last year, this meant a few extra hours of peace (prior to the storm called D) and a few extra hours to work on the nursery. And in prior years, it would've meant hitting the local slopes for a few blissful runs with powder wafting silently around our heads...ok, ok, so that was Vail a few Christmases ago...but we can pretend. This year? We have recently been blessed by zero to sub-zero temps in the mornings, and no snow to boot. WT? Is this Albuquerque...land of four mild seasons?? With D finally well and me almost recovered, I am reluctant to go outside even for a walk in these temps as we just don't have the appropriate clothing...nor are we planning to buy any for the once-or-twice-a-winter occurrence. But, on the heels of being cooped up due to sicko reasons, we are going a little stir-crazy. Poor D is hitting all the nos, and mom is plain tired of pulling him away from the fireplace, fake plant, cat food and water, cat boxes, etc. G arrives tomorrow, and we can't wait!!! A new face, some new games, and a "new" person for D to play with :). So, bring on the snow...which makes sub-zero temps ok, or bring on some warmth!
