It Worked!

So I wasn't sure if the stairwell baby-proofing effort was going work, as my nephew, S, didn't really even notice the cut-outs when he was here in November. And since crawling is a relatively new skill for D, we hadn't tackled stairs by any means. Yesterday, however, he was interested in trying to crawl up the stairs. So, I let him, with supervision (obviously!). And, when he came upon the first cut-out, he started pushing on it, licking it, slapping it, and laughing at the kitty he could see through it below on the couch. It made the effort all worthwhile!! And I vow to remember this day when G and I are repairing all the screw holes in the drywall :).
