Celebrating a Growing Life

After 9 months of trying, we are happy to share that D is finally going to be a big brother come mid-February 2009! We feel so incredibly blessed and it is with massive amounts of glee that we cancel our appointment with the fertility specialists that was scheduled in July. You have to understand that we were beginning to wonder since D happened on our first try. We are still very early in the pregnancy, 6 weeks today, but I am not one who can keep news like this private, especially since most everyone knew we were trying. As with my last pregnancy, I have not had any morning, noon, evening or any other sickness to speak of (except for the day I first tested). Thank goodness! Although it does make this part of pregnancy the toughest as I wake up every day wondering if I really am pregnant. Thus, I have taken three tests so far (all positive), and have two more just in case :). Our first doc appointment is the 9th; sadly, it is with a new doc as my previous OB is retiring. And, as with the last pregnancy, we will find out as soon as possible whether D will be expecting a little brother or sister, though we highly suspect a little brother given the Boyarko genes. Different for this pregnancy though is that I will continue to run, bike and swim throughout. Last time I was told not to run. But, it seems like everyone I know can and did with no problems, and since I am healthy and in good shape, I see no reason not to as long as I am taking it easy and not doing any tris or half-marathons :). G and I discussed yesterday though that I really want to do the 2009 Ironhorse (May), so I will be back in the saddle full-speed ASAP after Baby B is born. I really need my Durango fix, and my crazy mountain passes fix too! Anyone have a mountain bike I can borrow :)? While we are eagerly awaiting Baby B’s arrival, we are glad for the next 8 months in which to prepare as we have a lot to do between moving our office to the garage and re-doing it into D’s new big boy room, and moving a bunch more stuff into storage. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a basement!!! And for those who are wondering, we do plan to stop at two no matter whether Baby B is an XX or an XY :)- …two is our ideal number.

And, our other very very good news is that D doesn't have to have eye surgery...at least not next week. Neither G or I have noticed any issues whatsoever with his eye since our last visit to the eye doc, and their recommendation was to cancel and reschedule if we need to later on...with which we completely agree. Who wants unnecessary surgery...well, who really wants surgery to begin with?! Please keep your fingers crossed for us that he cleared his duct all on his own!

YAY!!!!!!! I could not possibly be happier for you guys. Come visit us next summer and we can all four hang out at my parent's lake house. How fun would that be? We are so thrilled for you.
