Wow! I think I blinked and our 15-day old turned into a 15-month old. And I have to say that while the 15-day old stage is cute and cuddly, the 15-month old stage is a total blast! It is so fun to see D's personality really blossom and his curiosity about EVERYTHING shine through. Nothing in our house is safe any longer as he has figured out how to climb on furniture. I was busy making coffee one morning and suddenly heard him "playing" the piano. Then I heard him playing the impossible piano, notes that he should not have been able to reach given the current "toddler-proofing" in that particular room. So, imagine my surprised when I rounded the corner and discovered that D had climbed up on the coffee table and was standing on it playing the piano! Oops! And, while he is still doing ok with his nap, more often than not I find him wide awake and playing in his crib after about 1.5 hours (we would like him to sleep 2 or more hours at this point). When I picked him up from the gym daycare today he was covered, head to foot, in sand. He had been having himself a party in the sandbox, which is great since we don't have our own. When I got him home and changed his diaper, he actually had to take a mini-bath because he was so full of sand. As I sit here and type he is making fishy faces at me and willing the next door neighbor's dog to come out so he can point at him and wave. On an odd note, we have noticed over the past month or so that D seems to be breaking out on his cheeks a lot. We have been using Aquaphor all day, everyday to try and minimize this, but just today I was asked if he has eczema. I had considered this, but thought that eczema usually showed up early on, whereas this waited until well after his first birthday to make its appearance. We don't have another doc appointment for a few months (provided he stays healthy) and plan to ask what the deal is then. For now, we are hoping it is just his excessive slobbering (which we think is related to teething), sucking his thumb (which rubs his fingers all over his cheek), and all the wiping we do all day long trying to get food etc. off his face. Here is a picture of our once 15-day old:

Yea, what of it?!

They change so much in that first year & a half. D has such a sweet, friendly disposition - he is such a joy!
