Fun With Words

I have recently noticed that D seems to understand a few words. I will ask him where the light is, and he looks and points to whatever light is in the room, whether or not it is on or off. He also appears to understand: kitty (of course); window; nose; ear; picture; and his favorite, teeth (he loves to stick his fingers in my mouth so he can touch my teeth). When we were looking at a book yesterday, I asked him where the kitty was, and believe it or not, he pointed to the kitty (although it took him a little while). It is such a treat to begin to really communicate with D and to get a small glimpse of what the future holds once he starts talking!! Here is a picture of him playing with the keys he was given in the hospital when he was born. They had been unintentionally put aside many months ago (they were once a favorite toy) and forgotten by Mom (bad Mom), and he hasn't put them down since I found and gave them back to him today.
