Mueller State Park, Take 2

This past weekend, we took a break from the day-to-day and headed for the hills. Mueller State Park to be exact. Last year was our first year to camp there, and we fell in love! It is such a family-friendly place, and definitely geared towards kids. Although rather windy (again), the trip was extraordinary. My brother and family met us there and it was just such fun to watch the kids play and be creative, breathe!, and have a chance to catch up with life. Here are a few fun pictures from the weekend.

P taking a rest (and water!) break after thoroughly scoping out our camp site.

We had incredible views! The trade off was the wind, but I think it was worth it ;).

Fire-wood hunter D :).

Playing in their 'King Julian' chair.

P collecting flowers ♥.

The boys had a little time for tossing around the football.

So cute!

Fire in the hole!

Saturday, we took a long hike to a little pond. On the way, the kids discovered a neat fort built into a cluster of rocks.

G was popular with the girls ♥.

Taking a rest, as prescribed by E, and playing with sticks.

Happy girls!

Happy kids! Seriously, what kid doesn't like sticks and water lol.

On our way back, we adventured off the path a bit and the boys found a neat rock scramble along the way.

LOL...tired? ;)

P getting a lift from Uncle B on the way back out (and UP).

The boys...you can see they were never very far from the sticks.

P also got a lift from Daddy :).

Uncle B enjoyed some P time as we relaxed post-hike.

While G enjoyed a little E time :).

Uncle B tickle time!

What an amazing trip! I don't have pictures from Sunday, but we signed the kids up for a Fishing 'Tutorial' (free) and they ended up being treated to a 3 hour event which included their own fishing pole and lunch. It was so fun to watch the kids cast their own poles and try to catch fish. Already looking forward to another weekend there next summer!
