Relaxing after the chaos of unloading and hiking to our camping spot. And yes, that IS a bear storage box you see there in the background :). No bear sightings this trip though *WHEW*.
The view from our chairs.
A Daddy and D zzzzzzz-fest.
P was content to go adventuring for wild flowers.
I took a small hike with D :).
And then cheesed with P :)! And yes, because I make them wear big floppy hats, I wear one too (even though I look like a big dork with it on lol).
Awwww ♥. She was the tiniest camper we saw in our area.
D and Daddy were super-gatherers!
Camp fires rock! Notice how both kids elected to sit in our chairs, leaving us the Buzz and Tinker-backel (Tinkerbell) ones that hold less than half our weight.
Giggles over camp-fired hot dogs :).
There was a nature program for kids on Saturday that we participated in. The kids actually got nets and were able to try and catch bugs and other small things living in/around the pond. It was so cool and the thing both kids said they enjoyed the best about the trip (besides gathering wood and snuggling with Mommy and Daddy at night).
D with his net posed and ready!
He caught one!...a water skimmer I believe.
P going after the catch!
Admiring their handy-catches.
You know you've struck kid-camping gold when there is a trail specifically for children!
P spotting :)!
D spotting :)!
While Daddy and P napped, D and I played around at the campground playground. Yep, like I said, kid-camping gold!
P found much enjoyment in just playing with the rocks on the tent pad. Oh, and a box of crayons she got from the Visitor Center :).
D also found enjoyment in the rocks :).
Trying to roast corn over the fire :).
By Sunday, everyone was beat. The kids did a great job of playing around in the campsite while G and I packed up! Those rocks, I tell ya! Who needs expensive toys when one has small rocks :)?!
Thank you so much, my sweet family, for helping me indulge in one of my favorite past-times, which I hope will also become yours!!! We dearly missed my bro and his family who were scheduled to join us for this adventure. Poor Uncle B was under the weather, so their campsite sat vacant for the weekend. Hope we can do this with you four next summer though, know you would all enjoy it, and now we know the best camp sites to reserve ;)! We now take a break and enjoy the next weekend here at home before heading off the following weekend for a camping adventure outside of Fort Collins somewhere with Poppa and Ansy and Uncle B and family!
