Summer Swim Lessons

D's summer swim lessons commenced yesterday, and will continue for the next four weeks, four times per week *whew*! So far, so great!!! He is having a ball and I'm certain he will make great strides toward unassisted swimming during this time. He is SO ready to be out there on his own, and I think with these lessons, he will be approaching that milestone! And yes, Mommy's eagle eye will always be right there with him :)!

Here he is trying to go from a back float to a front float. 'Float' just isn't in his vocabulary though, as you can see. He would rather go, go, GO :)!

After a 30 minute lesson, he got to make one last big SPLASH!!!

Congrats to our little Yellow Otter, for all the progress he has made on his own over the last many months. We are so proud of our little water bug!!

ETA: D officially 'graduated' from Red Frog and nearly finished the Yellow Otter requirements. He only has two left to move into the next category \o/! He has another 2 week session June 20 - 30, so I imagine he will complete YO by the end of June.

P's lessons start in another one and a half weeks and I think she is more than ready :). Will be fun to see how she does since these lessons are in warmish water as opposed to the freeeeeeeezing temps of the pool we did them in last summer.

ETA: P's lessons started today, and she was by far the strongest swimmer in her group. It is unfortunate that children are not allowed to begin regular lessons until they are 3 as she is more than ready. Oh well, we'll make do and thankfully the instructor seems willing to help me teach her more advanced skills so she's not bored.
