"Arts & Projects"

So, I promised myself that I would have the kids do at least one new arts and crafts project (which D fondly refers to as arts and projects) each week once we got moved and settled. I am not the most creative kid on the block, so this is a way for me to expand my horizons and ensure the kids get to explore an avenue they may love. I enlisted the help of a new magazine (thanks for the reco J!) and am open if anyone wants to offer suggestions :). This week, the project was fun, but a little to old for both kids. I had to do a lot of pre-work and even trying to get the pieces glued on was a challenge. We did have fun despite everything, and the kids have been enjoying the end result...

...Exhibit A & B: arf arf and eeeowy :) hand-puppets

Here D shows us how to use his :) while P tries to determine where her fingers need to go to make it work.

And, because D has been able to participate in so many new things lately, we felt it was high time for Miss P to have her own fun. She has been jumping around the house like a little bean (read: jumping on her new big girl bed lol) and trying to do summersaults, so we decided on a Mommy and Me gymnastics class. Today was her first day and OMG did she have a ball! It was nice too...I didn't feel like I was a fish out of water amidst the other parents, and the instructor was very good about letting me know strict focus etc. was not what the class was about. *whew* She may look like she's 2, but this 19 month-old definitely has a 19 month-old attention span lol.

Jjjjjjuuuuuuump!

More jumping (I believe the trampolines were her favorites).

And, I wanted to document the fact that she is now regularly napping and sleeping in her big girl bed \o/!
