A Pregnancy Update
So, I haven't really said that much about this second pregnancy to date, other than we are :). The first trimester was actually a bit more trying than my first pregnancy; lots of nausea and extreme tiredness. Of course, I wasn't chasing a toddler around 24/7 last time either :). I am relieved to be through the first trimester and was ever-so-happy to hear the baby's heartbeat at our appointment last week as well as see the baby moving around during our ultrasound last week. Because I am "old" and this is classified as a "high risk" pregnancy, we are able to have a bunch of testing done which includes a few additional ultrasounds. Though I still chafe at being considered "high risk", it is actually pretty cool to be able to have more information and see the baby more times than we normally would have. We still won't be able to find out the sex until week 19, so a few more to go before that discovery is made (though I still believe it is a boy). Anyhow, everyday it seems I grow out of another pair of something-or-other, and while I am not looking forward to pulling out the dreaded maternity clothes, I am so grateful for this little growing life. We are blessed and I will never lose sight of that...no matter how many pounds I pack on :). I am actually doing better this time around with weight gain, and don't anticipate it will be all that different from pregnancy #1 by the time 40 weeks rolls up. It will all come off in good time anyways. No belly shots yet, but I'll post one sometime soon. D is still pretty oblivious, but I imagine once my bump gets a little larger, he will gain interest.
