We had our first ultrasound done yesterday and were relieved to find out that we are expecting one baby this coming February! I have been extremely tired the past few weeks and have unfortunately started experiencing some nausea, though nothing too extreme. Since these two factors are so different from my first pregnancy (well, and the fact that my stomach is already starting to pooch out), I was a bit worried that we might be looking at twins. Not that we wouldn’t be grateful if that had happened, but we really just wanted one more kiddo, so this news is perfect! The OB assured me that no matter how many sit-ups I was doing, my abs clearly remember being preggo and are thus much quicker to assume the position this time around :o). The ultrasound showed that we are right on track for a February 18th due date. We find this to be rather funny since in February we already have the following birthdays covered: 10, 16, 19, and 21 (x2). Perhaps Baby B will be like his/her brother in that he/she will demand a unique birthday in February; there were a few special March dates we had thought perhaps D would be born on, but he persisted in securing his very own special day. The facility we visit just got a new ultrasound machine two weeks ago, and so we were blessed with this amazing 3D color picture of Baby B at 8 weeks and 1 day old! While D has no idea yet what is going on, we have been starting the preparation by talking about the baby in Mommy’s tummy. Thankfully, we have many months to secure as much of his understanding as will be possible in a ~23 month old.

WOW! What a cool ultrasound photo! Congrats! I hope that the nausea and fatigue improves soon - I know that it is no fun.
Sorry to have missed you guys when you were up. How cool is that ultrasound pic? I can't wait to see the 20 week! And find out which gender Baby B is. :) Hang in there with the nausea - it could be that you are busy chasing D and your blood sugars are screwy. I totally hear you on the tummy - my OB said the same thing!
Hi Colleen and George! I'm just dropping in to send you a slightly belated CONGRATULATIONS!! on kiddo number two:) I can't wait to meet him or her. If I get my act together, maybe I'll even get to "meet" them before they are born. My thoughts are with the three of you...
