...we received a surprise Christmas gift in the mail on the 1st, which we finally opened last week (yes, we are a bit behind these daze). My exchange sister, J, and her daughter sent us all the cutest, most meaningful gifts from Berlin! We had great fun looking at some fridge magnets and talking about where mommy had once lived/visited. P has the cutest angel wings for her hair and a doll she hasn't left behind since. D got some cool silly bands as well as a neat activity book. And a very meaningful ornament we will enjoy hanging each year on the tree. Super fun surprise, thank you so much J and Y!!!!
Vail Vacation...ready, set, GO! So, we share a condo in Vail with my bro and family, and this was our (1st) year to enjoy :). Forever thanks to my parents for purchasing this amazing time many, many years ago. As B and I sat in the hot tub (the outdoor one, of course!) we were amazed to be sharing it with our own kiddos, having shared it once upon a time, as kiddos. Too cool! Anyhoo, some pics...
...packed and PACKED. A little Scubi Doo jenga was necessary in order to fit everything in LOL.
There (Day 1...Friday PM)! The boys immediately went for the Wii :).
While P did stickers and colored.
The view from our pad :).
Day 2:
We headed over to the clubhouse for a little game of checkers.
P giving me her best pouty face for no reason at all :).
D LOVED checkers. G has taken him back over a few times just to play.
Waiting for the cousins to arrive!
By Saturday afternoon, P was pretty tired ♥. She skipped her nap both days.
Day 3:
E, S and D were also tired :), so they snuggled in and took a rest (code for watched TV).
As did P :).
We ventured out for a walk through Lionshead Village and a trip up the Gondola since it is free after 2 PM. Got a cute picture of the kiddos in some coolio recycled ski chairs.
Waiting to get on the Gondola. This was our kid's first trip on it!
D, E, P and S give us funny faces :).
At the top!
P playing in the snow :). Not sure whether she left any snow on the mountain ;).
D and S hard at snow-removal work :). Or maybe that was snow-eating lol.
The boyz on a play snowmobile.
Enjoying a small treat at the top.
By Sunday evening, P was absolutely wiped (this was day 3 with no nap). She finally passed out while we were busy making dinner :).
However, the short 20 minute nap was enough to cause her system to go into serious no-napum-overload, and she proceeded to be up until 10 PM. AHEM.
Day 4:
Monday, we investigated a local sledding hill. It had a cool playground too :).
Sledder-P!
Uncle B went for the fall :).
And D tried hard to emulate him :).
D & S at the wheel :).
P making sure the park equipment is cleared ;).
