Things with Wings

We returned home from our MN trip Wednesday evening, and Thursday morning we were off and running again. Fountain Creek put on their monthly 2's and 3's program, Things with Wings, which we couldn't miss!!

P demonstrates how to make a mustache with bird feathers :). And yes, I do have a picture of when she was licking them (yuck!).

The kids got to become a thing with wings too!

Butterflies have wings, and we learned the difference between butterfly wings and bird wings. I believe it had something to do with scales, but was busy wrangling P, so I missed most of the discussion. P was busy trying to test the hardness of the floor with her face :D.

When we went for the hike part of the program, we stumbled across more things with wings. Little bitty baby birdie ones :).

D encountered a bat too :).

This one doesn't have wings, but it will...a Monarch caterpillar.

Not sure exactly what this one is, but eventually will become a thing with wings.

After the nature center fun, we had a micmic lunch with friends and then headed to the Fountain Splash Pad for continued fun. It was a hot day, so the cold spray was a welcome relief. Great time with great friends!!! Hard to believe the summer is winding down and fall is about to begin. It has been a crazy fun Colorado summer, with a little MN mixed in. Grateful for wonderful family and friends who've made this a very memorable time!
