Yesterday we had our 19 week and 1 day ultrasound, and much to my disbelief, we were informed that this little one growing inside my belly is actually a GIRL! I asked the ultrasound tech a few different times as I just didn't believe it was possible; she continued to assure us there were no boy parts :). The best news was that with as much certainty as they are able to offer, the risks of there being any problem with her are very low...as low as any normal, non-"high-risk" pregnancy. Those words were the best we could've heard, along with, "we won't need to see you any more" from the specialist. So, we are thrilled to be anticipating the arrival of Pamela Claire in mid-February!*
*We have received a few questions regarding the origin of our name selection: Pamela was my beautiful mother's name and Claire is a name G picked out that we both think is wonderful.
We also had D's 18 month appointment yesterday...it was a busy day at the doctors! He is 24 lbs 11 oz and is 32 1/2 inches tall...right on track with where his growth has always been. And it was a huge relief to discover that all of the questions we had were normal and that D's behavior is normal. She believes the rash on his cheeks is simply a function of his fair skin and being a blonde :), and that to treat we just simply do what we have been, apply lotion, Vaseline, or something similar daily. And she said his eating habits are no big deal, we just have to be patient and keep offering assistance for a while :). We were so happy to hear that everything with him is progressing as it should!! He is just our happy little chill guy and we love him to death! He didn't even cry when the nurse administered the immunization shots...he is a champ! His big boy room is almost ready and we'll be sure to post some pictures of it once completed. He seems to really like it so far and goes in there to play with the toys already residing there. Plus, he really seems to enjoy the new "night-light" concept we have worked out!**
**We have been suspicious that D was teething again and were correct...the doc said he is working on a number of his molars right now.
We'll get some pictures of our bambinos posted soon...still working on scanning Baby Pammy's pics into a format that will work on this blog.
