Happy July!

Ok, bear with me as a catch up on the blog posting. We just returned from a wonderful Ohio vacation, and I will be trying to catch up with daily posts over the next week. With that...

Saturday, June 23rd, the Waldo Canyon Fire started just outside of Colorado Springs. Though we were affected by the smokey air, the distress was mostly caused by the sight of all the smoke. On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 26th, the worst-case scenario, as described by the officials, happened. The fire came roaring over the mountain and into the Springs, burning nearly 400 houses in the process. Here is what I saw Tuesday evening...

The view from Cottonwood Creek Park.

All those orange spots above the line of traffic are spot fires. SCARY! This was turning left from Dublin to Union.

From the top of Vickers Hill. Again, the orange spots above the roofs are all spot fires.

My camera could not do justice to what we saw with out eyes. KRDO posted a picture that truly captured the horrific event.

The gym has been using a 15-minute time slot to allow kids to listening to/watch different music videos from songs they know and love. P's favorite has been 'Goin' on a bear hunt'...

I must say, D likes it too lol :).

These videos were from about a month ago :).
