D's Poppa and Ansy came from Colorado to help him celebrate his 1st birthday this weekend (his birthday is on Easter, the 23rd)!! We are celebrating this event three times to ensure everyone gets to participate...I am certain that he just hates this notion :). We had such a wonderful weekend with them: D went swimming on Saturday, had his first ever pure sugar injection by way of a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and shamrock sprinkles, "unwrapped" birthday presents, went to the park to swing and slide, cuddled with Poppa and Ansy, and practiced his walking...all in just a few days! D's walking is really progressing; he is getting up the courage to let go of furniture etc. on his own and walk over to another piece of furniture or other means of holding himself up (favorite being the sliding glass window right now). I think we probably have another week or so before he is motoring around the house on two legs rather than two legs and two arms! BRING.IT.ON!!!! It is just incredible to realize that we are entering the era of toddlerhood and are leaving infanthood behind. Here are a few pictures of our fun weekend.
