Ok, I did something today that I have never done before...I entered D into a baby contest...mostly just for fun, but hey, if we won $500 to That's My Baby, I surely wouldn't complain :). All I had to do was send in a picture of him (not like we don't have one of those lying around), and of course sign a consent form so they can post his picture on-line. The hunt is on for Albuquerque's Baby Idol! The voting starts March 12th...so if you think D should be ABQ's Baby Idol, please feel free to vote for him :)!
An update on D's walking: today I was helping him walk in the upstairs hallway and decided to let go of both hands just to see what happened. And do you know that D kept on going. Yes, he took many steps all on his own without falling down!!! And he knew he was doing something REALLY.GOOD. When he fell, he turned around and looked at me with a huge "I did it!" grin. I of course was sitting there crying and laughing and telling him he did it. Wouldn't you give $$ to know what babies are thinking? He was probably rolling his eyes at his crazy Mom and contemplating a midnight crib escape. I tried this same tactic a few more times during the day, but he got wise to it and starting sitting down whenever I let go of his hands. Apparently he is just not quite ready yet.
Also, I wanted to say a special thanks to our friends and neighbors D & K for watching D tonight so I could go for my first swim group workout!! I REALLY appreciate your help!!
