Mighty Mouse Meets the COld

Last week, despite the chilly temps, we braved the trek down to the Fountain Creek Nature Center for their monthly nature program.

D and P tracks, telling us the tales of children gone wild ;).

Miss N shows us the tracks made by Mr. Mouse, who lives in the FC basement. She offered him some peanut butter in trade :).

Learning about the mouse's predators.

P showing me which predators she picked (note that one is a house-cat lol).

Mighty Mouse helping the kids understand which animals he hides from and which he does not.

D inspecting Miss N inspecting D while little mouse P looks on.

The kids even got to see a real mouse :). This one was from a local pet store though, not the basement.

Making a cute craft before heading into the COld.

Once outside, the kids learned about different places mice like to hide in the wilderness.

And then they got to make like mice and hide :).

P eventually got close enough to a food source to snag a walnut...

...as did D.

After a few rounds of making like mice, we all decided the wind was sending us a clear message...GET INSIDE!!! Brrrrrrr!
