P-cakes at 5 Months

Today we celebrate 5 months of having little precious P in our lives. Did someone say 5 months? The month leading up to this milestone has been the best yet. She is starting to display so much more of her darling little personality and she is also able to self-entertain quite a bit. Huge.huge.huge!!! She LOVES the jumper…seriously, the girl is happy to jump away in that for like 30 minutes without making a single fuss. And, she loves.her.big.brother! Whenever he talks to her or goes near her to play, she gets so excited. She’ll roll towards him to be closer…it is adorable. I have been bringing them in bed with me in the am the past few days (it is just we three right now) and she loves having him cuddle up next to her and babble away at her. Wow…this is when I am realizing that having kids this close together really is a good thing. She is still a very long/tall baby and seems to be gaining even more weight…is that really possible you ask? Yes. Aside from riding in the Bjorn and jumping in the jumper, P’s other favorite activity is….drum roll please…eating. You got it! The.girl.is.always.hungry! And, she has been weaning herself for the past few weeks. Yup. Already. A little help from me, but can you blame me? Being bitten and tugged on relentlessly is just.not.fun. Nor are hour-long feeding sessions when you have a toddler bouncing around screaming for attention. Did I mention the screaming can take the form of doing everything he knows he is not supposed to :) cause he’s smart enough to know it is difficult for me to do anything about it? It’s about one month shy of our goal, but what can I say…she is in charge of this one. She has moved on to oatmeal (from rice cereal) and seems to be happy eating this one or two times a day. As for her eye color…it is still a mystery. The only thing I think we can rule out is blue…not going to be a blue-eyed babe. Possibilities still include some variety of hazel or brown; my bets are on brown. And, I think the brown hair is around to stay. No more has fallen out and some new has started to grow in. General consensus right now is that she looks like me. I’ll take it :). And, here she is in all her 5-month-old glory!!

I have been enjoying the 'side-by-side' pics of our two at the same age, so below is one of D at 5 months.

Awwwww! As you can see, his eyes were still fairly blue here, and they ended up a beautiful light golden brown color.
